Seasonal variation in the nutritional status of mango (Mangifera indica L.) leaves.

Abstract : Two years' data are presented on the N and carbohydrate contents and the C:N ratio in the leaves of mango, cv. Dashehari, assessed at monthly intervals during consecutive 'off' and 'on' years. Leaf N contents were slightly higher in the 'off' year, attaining a peak in May and December. Leaf carbohydrate contents in the 'off' year were highest from October to December and in the 'on' year from September to November. The leaf C:N ratio in the 2 years was highest in August and September, respectively. Leaf carbohydrate contents and leaf C:N ratio were higher in the 'on' year.
