Abstract : The efficacy of thiamethoxam 25WG at 0.0125 and 0.0250% against mango hoppers was evaluated in Vengurle, Maharashtra, India, during 2000-01, 2001-02 and 2002-03. Thiamethoxam 25WG at both rates were equally effective and superior over carbaryl (0.15%), endosulfan (0.05%), monocrotophos (0.05%), cypermethrin (0.0075%) and nimbicidine (0.2%) in the reduction of mango hopper population.
