Abstract : Total sugar, protein and lipid contents of the edible portions of 4 mango, 2 pawpaw, 1 litchi and 2 strawberry cvs were determined as well as certain vitamins and trace elements. Both unirradiated and irradiated fruits (at commercially recommended doses) were analysed. The chemical composition (tabulated) of the 4 fruits was very similar. Statistical analyses of the constituents of irradiated and nonirradiated fruit showed no differences.
