Abstract : Malda district of West Bengal, India, is renowned for mango production. A significant portion of the people of the district depend on this crop for their livelihood. Besides making a living from this crop, the rural folks often depend on this plant for cure of a host of ailments. In the process various parts of the mango tree and fruit are used singly or in combination with other plants as medicine for different illness. The preparation of the medicine, amount and frequency of dosage are also discussed.
