Abstract : The Cd contamination problems in soil and fruits of main fruit base in Panxi District, Sichuan Province, China, were studied. Results showed that the Cd contents in soil were between 0.096-0.51 mg/kg, and 13% of the Cd contents in soil surpassed the grade II environment standard, particularly in Renhe mango district. However, the Cd contamination problems were not severe in other new cultivated fruit bases districts. The main factors affecting the Cd content in soil were matrix and human activities. Cd contents in the fruits were between 0.00065-0.044 mg/kg, and the rate of super-standard was 0%. The order of which the fruits accumulated Cd were as follows: loquat > longan > guava > mango.
