Abstract : A study on floral biology having four varieties of mango namely Golapbash, Pahutan, Langra and Mallika were carried out at the Regional Horticulture Research Station, Chapai Nawabgonj in 1997. The peak period might be considered for anther dehiscence in all the varieties at 9 am to 12 noon as well as 12 noon to 3 pm. The maximum dehiscence of anther was observed in Golapbash. The longest blooming period (27.67 days) required in Mallika whereas the shortest (16.67 days) was in Langra. Both the highest number of bisexual flowers (254.6) and the highest number of initial fruit set (5.87) was found in Langra while the lowest number of bisexual flowers (40.73) in Pahutan and the lowest number of initial fruit set (1.63) in Mallika.
