Abstract : Healthy inflorescences of mango cv. Himsagar had a slightly higher total N content than that of cv. Bombai. After infection by F. moniliforme [Gibberella fujikuroi], marked increases in both soluble and protein fractions of N were noted in both cvs. The ratio of the 2 fractions remained similar in Himsagar but in Bombai the protein N increased more rapidly than the soluble N.
