Abstract : In vitro efficacy of four fungicides, namely Acrobat MZ 75/667WP [dimethomorph], Dithane M-45 80% WP [mancozeb], Mancozeb 80% WP and Metalaxyl + Mancozeb 72% WP, was evaluated against Botryodiplodia theobromae, the causal agent of dieback disease of mango (Mangifera indica). Antifungal activity was assessed in basal broth medium. Different doses of the test fungicides, i.e. recommended (R), 0.75R, 0.50R and 0.25R, were tested. All the doses of the test fungicides significantly reduced the biomass of the fungus. These findings reveal that these fungicides are highly effective even at a very low concentration against B. theobromae.
