Abstract : This study attempts to develop and standardize a scale to measure the management ability of mango orchard growers in India. The relevance of the following indicators considered for the management ability scale was assessed: knowledge, planning, organizing, supervising, budgeting, coordinating, communication, controlling, decision making and human relations. The findings of this study have both theoretical and practical implications. Theoretically, the findings add to the knowledge about the managerial role in orchard farming. Practically, the findings are useful in measuring the ability of any orchard grower.
