Abstract : Mango malformation is discussed under the following headings: 1. Distribution of mango fruit malformation disease and damage to mango industry; 2. Symptoms of disease; 3. Pathogen; 4. Occurrence conditions; 5. Measures of control. It is reported that the pathogen involved in mango fruit malformation disease is not quite clear. It might be caused by a tree physiological disorder, or by a virus or by fungi. At present there is no effective measure for control. It is reported that in India, mango growers sprayed 200 mg NAA/litre during the period of flower bud differentiation which reduced the rate of fruit malformation.
