Changes in rooting factors during regeneration of roots on air-layers of mango (Mangifera indica L.).

Abstract : Extracts from root-forming parts of mango air layers showed a greater inhibitory effect on the growth of wheat coleoptiles than extracts from non-layered shoots. A decrease in the level of rooting factors was noted as the root-forming process progressed. The findings are discussed in relation to the role of rooting factors in the formation of adventitious roots.
