Abstract : The trial of 5 kinds of fruit crops at Phufa Pattana Centre, Nan Province to study the growth performance. The area of planting trial is 530 meters above sea level and steeply sloping. Trial crops consist of 4 avocado cultivars (Mass, Booth 7, Peterson, Buccaneer), 3 macadamia cultivars (No.660, H 2, No.508), 13 wampi cultivars (No. 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 19, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30, 63), 2 mango cultivars (Palmer, Mahachanok), 5 persimmon cultivars (Xichu, Fuyu, Hyakume, Nightingale, Ang-Sai). Result from study in the period 2002-2007 found that the wampi showed poorest overall growth. The best performance of fruit crops trial are mango cultivars which began fruiting at 2.5 years after planting. Avocado cv. Peterson, Macadamia No. H 2 and No. 508, Persimmon cv. Xichu began fruiting at 5 years after planting. The aforeabove fruit crops should be included in the selection of crops for planting in the uplands of Nan province to produce food crop and sustainable income.
