Abstract : The objective of this work is to present the ELECTRE II as a decision support system to assist planners in agricultural crops recommendation. The model was applied in a crop selection of an irrigated perimeter located in the semiarid region of Paraiba state, in the neighborhood of the Sousa city. The decision criteria were the increase of net profit and job generation and the reduction of water consumption and agricultural defensives use. To couple with the conflicting criteria the multicriterial method Electre II was used to choose the most adequate crops. The subjectivity of the decision maker preferences was taken into account through a sensitivity analysis. The results had shown that coconut, papaya and passion fruit are the most recommended crops for the studied perimeter. The less recommended crops were watermelon (season/out of season) and melon (season) and mango.
