Abstract : Idioscopus clypealis (Leth.) is an important pest of mango in several states in India. Further tests on chemical control were carried out in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, in 1976-77 and included insecticides that had already shown promise in earlier tests. The results are presented in detail. The best control was obtained with sprays containing 0.15% carbaryl, 0.04% monocrotophos or 0.05% phosphamidon and it is recommended that spraying should begin at the panicle emergence stage and that applications should be repeated after 21 days if necessary.
