Abstract : This bulletin deals with the identification and economic importance in Ethiopia of species of the genus Pachnoda (Scarabaeidae, Centoniinae). A general account of their known biology and distribution is given, and the pest status of each species is outlined together with a review of possible control measures; among the crops recorded as having been attacked are sorghum, pearl millet (Pennisetum americanum), maize, mango, sunflower, cotton and ornamental roses. Each species is briefly described, and a key and 26 figures are provided as an aid to their identification and guide to their distribution.
