Abstract : The effect of N, P & K and lime on C/N ratio, sugar content and yield of mango cv. Latsundari grown on an acid lateritic soil was studied. It was found that application of nutrients and lime reduced the C/N ratio, increased sugar content of pulp and yield of fruit. It is inferred that inadequate utilization and translocation of carbohydrate is a result of poor nutrient content of panicle. The panicle C/N ratio can be used as an biological indicator of yield and quality of fruit as well as malformation of mango panicle.
