Abstract : In air assisted sprayers the spray droplets are atomized and carried by the high velocity air to the target. According to the requirement of air velocity and air discharge for ruffling action of mango tree leaves, which were essential for even spraying, blower was designed and fabricated. MS pipe frame of size 240×240 cm was fabricated to which nylon strings were tied across at a distance of 30 cm to fix the test points. For three different blower speeds, viz. 2250, 2500 and 2800 rpm, at four stations fixed at 3 m interval from blower outlet air velocity distribution and spray droplet spectrum were studied. For the present the average values of volume mean diameter (VMD) and droplet density (DD) were 145 urn and 30 no/sq.cm respectively at impeller speed of 2800 rpm, which are as per the requirements for efficient air assisted spraying of mango orchards.
