Abstract : Physico-chemical qualities and storage behaviour of some promising mango hybrids grown in new alluvial zone of West Bengal were evaluated. Results revealed that hybrid Manzeera showed maximum fruit weight, length, pulp weight and yield/plant followed by Arka Puneet. Bio-chemicals constituents also varied among the different hybrids. Maximum total soluble solids (19.2°Brix), total sugar (14.5%), ascorbic acid (18.44 mg/100 g pulp) and b-carotene (2788 µg/100 g pulp) with minimum titrable acidity (0.30%) were obtained from hybrid Sundar Langra while Arka Puneet recorded minimum of these bio-chemical constituents. Maximum economic storage life of 9 days was recorded in hybrid Alfazli with minimum physiological weight loss and spoilage.
