Abstract : This annual report provides data on the survey, collection and evaluation of trait-specific germplasm of crops, such as mango, guava, pawpaw and Syzygium cumini, among others, for crop improvement and critical productivity issues of crop canopy architecture, fertigation, substrate dynamics and organic farming for addressing the challenges on yield, water conservation and environmetal safety. The determination of the seasonal dynamics of pests, diseases and their potential antagonists to provide cost-effective technologies with minimal chemical use are discussed. The decrease in postharvest losses, market economy, farm income enhancement and pesticide residue issues are discussed and technology dissemination and capacity building initiatives through different programmes are also highlighted.
