Abstract : Bactrocera was monitored with Steiner traps in 6 monitoring sites in Myanmar, 4 sites in Laos, 3 sites in Vietnam and 4 sites in Thailand along the border of Yunnan, China during 2006-08. A total of 46 species of Bactrocera were found, including 28 species of Bactrocera macquart and 6 species of Dacus fabricius. B. dorsalis, B. scutellata, B. latifrons, B. cucurbitae, and B. tau were dominant species in the 4 counties. Feeding test showed five species (B. dorsalis, B. correcta, B. latifrons, B. cucurbitae, and B. tau) generated from feeding, and B. dorsalis had most batch and quantity. Host selection test showed mature mangoes were the optimal host for B. dorsalis. The total eclosion rate for B. dorsalis was 96% in an indoor feeding test.
