Abstract : The present paper is a review of works done so far on genetic variability of fruit plants, viz. almond, apricot, banana, ber, capegooseberry, grape, guava, litchi, mango, mulberry, papaya, pomegranate, strawberry and yellow raspberry. It is hoped that information furnished will be useful for improvement of races and heritable characters will be useful for determining the taxonomic status of horticultural races/varieties.
