Abstract : An experiment was conducted during 2007-2008 to study the effect of germination inhibitors on quality parameters in Alphonso mango (Mangifera indica L.) at the Central Experimental Station, Wakawali, (Dr. BSKKV) Maharashtra. Results revealed that treatment GA3-100 ppm showed maximum marble size fruits per panicle (1.40) while maximum yield was observed in treatment PP333-500 ppm (58.5 kg fruits/tree). Maximum fruit weight (250.00 g) was observed in GA3-100 ppm. The control i.e. T11 showed maximum physiological loss in weight as well as TSS also. Maximum acidity was recorded in the treatment T8-(Combined) i.e. ABA (10 ppm)+PEG (20 ppm)+Tannic Acid (20 ppm)+PP333 (500 ppm) and T9-(Salicylic Acid-100 ppm) i.e. (0.39%). Significantly higher shelf life was recorded in treatment T5 i.e. Tannic acid-10 ppm (12.66 days). In S.F. category, treatment T6-Tannic Acid (20 ppm) showed no incidence of spongy tissue i.e. (0%) while, in S.D. stage, treatment T2 i.e. ABA-10 ppm showed minimum incidence of spongy tissue i.e. 18.28% than control %.
