Abstract : Sternochetus mangiferae (F.) is listed in the plant health legislation for the European Union. Since 1962, it has been detected in association with imported fresh mango fruit on at least 17 occasions in England and Wales, most frequently on fruit imported from Africa. The geographical distribution, biology and economic importance of S. mangiferae are reviewed.
