Abstract : Trials were carried out with 10- to 12-year-old trees of the mango cv. Dashehari treated with Na2CO3 (at 0.5%) 1-5 times starting before flowering and ending 30 days after fruit set. Spraying after fruit set was appreciably more effective than earlier treatments but numbers of treatments (1-3) after fruit set were not significant. One treatment (20 litres of spray solution/tree) after fruit set was sufficient to control black tip disease [Glomerella cingulata].
