Abstract : Fifteen mango cultivars were screened for their field reaction against mango leaf gall midge Procontarinia matteiana (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) at Navsari Agricultural University, Navsari (Gujarat) farm, Navsari during January-December 2007. Lowest (9.91 per cent) and highest (52.11) leaf damages were observed in Totapuri and Alphonso cultivars, respectively. Similarly, Makaram and Totapuri had highest (91.58 galls/sq.cm on infested leaves) and lowest (7.17) gall intensity, respectively. No morphological characters of mango trees indicated any significant relationship with both the characters taken into consideration. Totapuri and Alphonso were categorized as least and most susceptible cultivars, respectively.
