Effect of three growth regulants on fruit retention and quality of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Langra.

Abstract : Mango trees were sprayed with NAA, 2,4-D or 2,4,5-T, each at 20 and 40 p.p.m., when the fruits were at the pea stage, followed or not by a second application one month later. Fruit retention was improved, and fruit quality was enhanced, by all treatments, compared with water-sprayed controls, the best results being obtained with NAA at 40 p.p.m. Fruit size was greatest following 2 spray applications.
