Abstract : Application of potassium (400 to 700 g/plant/year) along with fixed doses of N (145 g/plant/year) and P (335 g/plant/year) was carried out in order to study the suitability of potassium in the improvement of yield and quality of Amrapali mango grown in new alluvial zones of West Bengal. Results revealed that different levels of potassium significantly improved the physico-chemical qualities and leaf mineral content except iron. Among different levels of potassium, K, at the rate of 650 g/plant/year showed maximum yield (37.95 kg/plant) with highest TSS (22.00°brix), toal sugar (16.20%) and ?-carotene (7990 µg/100 g) content of fruit. This treatment also showed maximum leaf minerals content except iron. Therefore, K at the rate of 650 g/plant/year along with fixed doses of N and P can be recommended for optimum yield and quality fruit production of Amrapali mango grown in new alluvial zone of West Bengal.
