Evaluation and economic analysis of mango based intercropping systems in rainfed upland.

Abstract : An experiment was conducted with nine treatments such as mango ginger, turmeric, tomato, cowpea, frenchbean, ragi, niger, upland paddy and control (without intercrop) along with filler crop guava to find out the most profitable crop combination under the rainfed upland situation of Odisha, India. The results of the investigation revealed that the maximum fruit yield of mango and guava were recorded with the mango+guava+cowpea intercropping system closely followed by mango+guava+frenchbean. The highest mango equivalent yield (238.54 q/ha) was obtained from mango+guava+turmeric followed by mango+guava+mango ginger. The mango+guava+cowpea intercropping system recorded the highest L
