Abstract : Investigations were carried out to study the effect of fertilizer levels on growth and flowering attributes of gladiolus in mango orchard. Vegetative growth in terms of the number of leaves and height of the plant increased significantly with the increase in levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium over control. Treatment N10P5K5 g/m2 had a pronounced effect on the days to first floret showing colour. Application of N40P20K20 g/m2 significantly increased flowering attributes and thus was found to be as optimal dose for floral characters. A gradual, steady and a significant increase in corms produced per plant as well as number of cormels was observed with increasing fertilizer levels recording highest values at N50 P25 K25 g/m2.
