Abstract : Inoculation of healthy seedlings of cv. Hindy with F. moniliforme [Gibberella fujikuroi] in Feb. resulted in malformations within a month. Those inoculated with F. oxysporum and F. solani did not develop symptoms. Mechanical inoculation of several plant spp. (5 fams.) with crude sap from malformed inflorescences did not cause virus-like symptoms. Similarly grafts of malformed shoots to healthy ones did not result in disease transmission.
