Abstract : Three years observation under natural nursery condition revealed that incidence of both anthracnose and malformation varied from year to year, where anthracnose was significantly higher during 2004 as compared to 2003 and 2005, and malformation was highest during 2003 and 2005 as compared to 2004. This variation of disease incidence in different years was due to the variation of temperature, relative humidity and rainfall during the period of disease incidence. Accordingly, incidence of anthracnose was favoured by temperatures between 24.6°C to 29.6°C and comparatively very low rainfall between 0.0 to 6.8 mm. While, that of malformation was influenced by temperatures between 21.6°C and 29.6°C and relative humidity between 63.18 to 76.40 per cent under nursery condition.
