Abstract : Exudate from a local mango variety diluted to 0.5 and 1% in distilled water caused both chromosomes and chromatid breakage and achromatic lesions in onion root-tip cells undergoing mitosis. A 5% exudate concentration inhibited cell division. The induction of point mutations by 0.5 and 1% concentrations of the exudate is thought possible.
