Morpho-qualitative traits of different Mango hybrids in new alluvial zone of West Bengal.

Abstract : A comparative investigation based on young orchard of ten different mango hybrids was carried out in Regional Research Station of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya under new alluvial zone of West Bengal for 3 years from 2002 to 2005. Hybrids were observed and evaluated pertaining to the tree, leaf, inflorescence and fruit characters, physico-chemical characters of fruits and the growth characters. Significant variations were observed in almost all the hybrids. Amrapali was found dwarf, sub-erect and round with dense foliage and higher leaf length. Moreover, Amrapali produced flowers in late with highest length of panicle and fruit set and identified as very good yielder. Considering all factors in terms of quality and quantity, Mallika and Amrapali were found to be adorable hybrids in new alluvial zone of Bengal.
