Abstract : Food-plant and locality records are presented of tephritids (11 species of Dacus and 2 other species) in the Northern Territory (Australia), from a survey in 1975-79 and older records. The survey involved 741 samples of cultivated and wild fruits representing 183 plant species from 66 families. The cultivated food-plants included mango, guava, pomegranate, Java apple (Syzygium sp.), grapefruit and peach; and the species infesting such hosts were D. jarvisi (Tryon), D. aquilonis (May) and one referred to as Dacus species A. Alternative wild food-plants for these are listed. Some well-known economic species, such as D. cucurbitae Coq. and D. tryoni (Frogg.), were absent.
