Abstract : The insecticide treatments included monocrotophos 36 SL @ 450 g a.i./ha, imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 71.2 g a.i./ha, dimethoate 30 EC @ 300 g a.i./ha, carbaryl 50 WP @ 1500 g a.i./ha and endosulfan 35 EC @ 350 g a.i./ha along with an untreated control. Imidacloprid contributed to significant reduction of hoppers but carbaryl and endosulfan were safe to spiders. Organophosphates like monocrotophos and dimethoate were highly toxic to spiders.
