Abstract : Objective: To study the effects of the essential oils from citrus reticulate on oviposition of Bactrocera dorsalis. Method: The number of eggs of B. dorsalis laid on Mangi feraindica was investigated after the treatment of oil from C. reticulate, and the constituents of oil were analyzed with GC-MS. Result: The results showed that the numbers of eggs on fruits were significantly higher after the fruits were dipped in the different concentrations of oil and the number of eggs increased gradually with the increase of essential oil concentrations. The main constituents of oil were Limonene, gamma-Terpinen, beta-Myrcene, alpha-Pinene, 1-Isopropy-4-Methylbenzene and b-Linalool. Conclusion: The study suggested that the essential oil from C. reticulate has significant attraction effect on oviposition of B. dorsalis and those volatiles detected possibly are main active components contributed to oviposition attraction.
