Abstract : Some 56 species of cerambycids collected from the Departments of Cusco, Apurimac, Madre de Dios and Arequipa, Peru, are listed. Several of the species are of economic importance. These include: Parandra glabra (Deg.), which bores in felled timber and has been collected at altitudes of up to 3300 m above sea level; Stenodontes spinibarbis (L.), which bores in living trees (including Dalbergia nigra)); Chlorida festiva (L.), the larvae of which bore in Acacia and mango; Eburia pilosa (Erichs.), which has caused severe damage in constructional timber; Megaderus stigma (L.), which tunnels in worked timber (and is known to attack telegraph poles in Brazil); Acrocinus longimanus (L.), the larvae of which bore in Ficus, Lonchocarpus and other trees; Macropophora accentifer (Ol.), the larvae of which bore in citrus and fig trees; and Taeniotes orbignyi (Guer.) and Oreodera sp., the larvae of which bore in fig.
