Endogenous cytokinins of mango (Mangifera indica L.) shoottips and their significance in flowering.

Abstract : Studies were made of the endogenous cytokinins in the shoot tips of mango cv. Dashehari (alternate bearing) between September and February in 'on' and 'off' years. Cytokinin levels at the time of flower bud differentiation (December to February) were higher in the 'on' year than in the 'off' year. Eleven cytokinin-like substances were isolated in the 'on' year, including zeatin riboside and zeatin.
