Abstract : Culture filtrates of the pathogen, which causes spoilage of fruit during post-harvest preservation and storage, exhibited significant pectinase and cellulase activity. In fruit infected by R. bataticola [Macrophomina phaseolina] an increase in activity of these enzymes and a decrease in certain enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism were observed in comparison with healthy fruit.
