Abstract : Inflorescences infected with powdery mildew were collected during 2011 and 2012 from commercial mango (including cultivars Kent and Keith) orchards, and creole materials from backyards of private residences in the Ahome and Fuerte Counties of northern Sinaloa, Mexico. The results of molecular and phylogenetic analyses of the ITS rDNA region showed that the samples were closely related to specimens of P. anacardii (teleomorph: Erysiphe quercicola) collected from mango trees in different countries. This is thought to be the first report of P. anacardii associated with mango inflorescences in Sinaloa, Mexico.
