Abstract : The efficacy of pre- and post-harvesting treatments against the anthracnose disease (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata]) of mango (cv. Dashehari) was evaluated in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, during 2009-10. The treatments consisted of spraying of carbendazim or thiophanate-methyl (0.1% each) once (at 15 days before harvesting or DBH) or twice (at 15 and 30 DBH), and immersing of harvested fruits in hot water (52±1.0°C for 10 minutes) with or without fungicide application. The disease incidence ranged from 5.3 to 38.0%. The lowest disease incidence was observed in fruits treated with thiophanate-methyl and immersed in hot water followed by another treatment with thiophanate-methyl.
