Abstract : Pest epidemic situations were analyzed for fruit imported from Thailand to Chinese ports in 2005-2011. The interception amount, intercepted species, hosts and interception methods were studied. Of the intercepted fruits, a total of 28 species (genus) were recorded, mainly including 12 species (genus) of fruit flies with 2978 batches and 4 species of scale insects with 1877 batches. The highest epidemic occurrence was recorded in durian, wax apple and mango. The intercepted quarantine pests during the good inspection were mainly Bactrocera correcta, Bactrocera dorsalis and Planococcus lilacinus, and those were mainly B. correcta, B. dorsalis and Sternochetus olivieri during the passenger inspection. Some proposals were presented according to epidemic characteristics, including strengthening epidemic surveillance, improving the identification and regulatory capacity of ports, and strengthening pest treatments.
