Abstract : C. sacchari is a quarantine pathogenic fungus, and impacts on the quality and quantity of sugarcane. The taxonomic status, hosts, geographical distribution, damage symptoms, biological characteristics and quarantine identification characteristics of C. sacchari were reviewed. Its main hosts included sugarcane, sorghum, Cymbidium spp., maize, pineapple, mango and Pinus spp. The morphological characteristics of perithecia, asci and ascospores of C. sacchari in carrot culture medium were illustrated. Moreover, the pathogenic determination of C. sacchari was presented.
